Perhaps these two meth merchants believed all attention was being paid to Operation Southern Sweep and therefore failed to realize that local law enforcement was still actively protecting Fortuna's citizenry. While the presence of hundreds of Federal and State agents was noteworthy and the subject of much media speculation our local authorities quite obviously were operating quietly in the background , going about what we pay them to do. Much deserved kudos to Chief Kitna and his department.

I am, perhaps a child of my generation but I wish that much Federal and State attention would be paid to the problem of the purveyors of meth. I understand that the focus of Operation Southern Sweep was the organized large scale for profit mariajuana operations but meth is the growing problem in the county.
