The city of Fortuna has extended the review and comment period on the Draft Program Environmental Impact Report by 14 days to allow for a more comprehensive review, according to a news release.
The DPEIR has been prepared by the city of Fortuna to assess the impacts of the draft Policy Document as amended by the city that, upon adoption, will become the city’s General Plan.
The draft PEIR has been in circulation for the past 45 days.
Resource agencies, local governments, NGOs, and individuals have been encouraged to review and comment on the draft document in an effort to improve it.

Written comments on the Draft PEIR will be accepted by the city of Fortuna through 5 p.m. on July 17.
Comments should address specific points in the DPEIR. Relate comments to a specific page and item number.
“The city values constructive review and comment,” the release stated.
The purpose of circulating the draft document is to allow for full disclosure of the impacts that projected development may have on the local environment over the life of the General Plan (through 2030).

The Draft Policy Document that is the subject of the PEIR is also available on that site.
