The 2008-09 budget will return before the McKinleyville Community Services District board of directors Wednesday.
At the June MCSD meeting, the board adopted the financial portion of the budget with the intention of making adjustments partway through the year.
The board will now be considering several additional resolutions to the budget, including adoption of an appropriations limit, sewer service buy-in charges, open-space maintenance charges, and adoption of objectives and appendices, according to a staff report.
Additionally, the MCSD board will consider a different version of a county indemnification agreement for the Mad River Bluff Project.
In December 2007, the board directed MCSD staff to work with legal counsel to modify the agreement, according to the staff report.
MCSD staff cited concerns about ongoing maintenance by the district and said responsibility of long-term maintenance was undefined.
According to the report, the current proposed agreement may also place the district at risk for future liability.
“Staff cannot support this draft agreement since the MCSD will presumably be left responsible for a large portion of the maintenance costs that are undefined, for an undetermined length of time,” the report states.
Other items before the board include a biennial review of the MCSD Conflict of Interest Code; consideration to send out a request for a sewer facilities plan; consideration of revision to the district’s park master plan; review of the records retention policy; consideration of a grant project to install a waste irrigation system at Fisher Ranch; and consideration of claims from four residents on Bella Vista Road due to a sewer overflow.
The board will also hold a public hearing on consideration of formation of a streetlight zone at the Rancho Del Sol subdivision.
The MCSD board will meet at 7 p.m. in Azalea Hall.
