A celebration of Lois Caldwell Goodrich’s life will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday July 16, 2008, at the United Methodist Church of Arcata. Lois passed away peacefully at home with her family on Saturday, July 12, 2008.
Lois was born March 4, 1930, in Salina, Kan. She attended Salina High School and received an art scholarship to Bethany College, where she met her husband, George Goodrich while being cast as “Laura” in the Glass Menagerie, a college production. Lois continued her education at the University of Minnesota and finished her degrees at Humboldt State University with a Bachelors and Masters of Art. She taught in the Theatre Arts Department at Humboldt State University for seventeen years.
She is survived by her husband George of 58 years, daughter Laura Lloyd of Florida, and sons George of Washington and John of Arcata, as well as her seven grandchildren, Gwen, George, Shane, Casey, Max, Alex, and Cole; as well as her sister Donna Davis of Nevada.
During Lois’s long life she enjoyed and was blessed with great skill in all forms of art. She loved international travel, sailing, gardening, Jazzercise, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved her cat Lionel and many other pets over the years.
