Mack All-Stars win at Woodland

The McKinleyville Babe Ruth 14-year-old All-Stars defeated Washington Manor 6-4 at the Northern California State Tournament at Woodland Saturday morning.

Ryan Patrick and Adam Logan each pitched well in the win, with Logan adding a double.

Cody Bates finished 2-for-4 in the win as Mack rallied from an early 2-0 deficit, with Corbyn Bubenik and Patrick each driving in runs.

Mack’s Wohali Bishop added a 340-foot home run and finished 2-for-4 with a pair of RBIs.

Russell Lindquist, who made some solid plays in the outfield, also went 2-for-4 in the win and drove in two sixth-inning runs to seal the win.

Juston Frazier, Brandon Ellena, Michael Saveliff and Zach Rowe each also were credited with big games.

McKinleyville will play Antioch at 4 p.m. today.

Eel River girls win at Wheatland

The 13/14 Eel River softball All-Stars continued their successful run at Wheatland this week with a 12-0 win over Red Bluff on Friday.

In earlier action, the Eel River girls defeated Modoc 5-3 on Wednesday and came from behind in the seventh inning to defeat Colusa 10-9 on Thursday.

win at Chico

The 10/11 Eel River baseball squad defeated Olivehurst-Linda 10-0 in the first round of the Section II 10’s/11’s Little League Tournament in Chico Saturday.

Leading the way on the mound for Eel River was Conner Hider, who had two innings and five strikeouts and went 2-for-4 at the plate, additionally.

Hider’s teammates – Nolan Stokesberry, Chandler Wilson and Garrett Ross – each went 1-for-3, and Stokesberry and Ross both drove in runs.

Next up for the Eel River boys is a game with Paradise at 1 p.m today.

Redwood Empire girls lose at Manteca

The 9/10 Redwood Empire softball team fell to Gilroy 5-0 in the first round of the 9’s/10’s Girls Softball State Tournament in Manteca Saturday.

Next up for the Redwood Empire girls is a game against an
undetermined opponent on Monday.
