Ethelynde Edith Becker
Jan. 23, 1920 - July 22, 2008

Beloved wife of 67 years to Merle Walter Becker, loving mother to Cherlene Joachim (Gary), cherished grandmother of Stefanie Pfutzenreuter (Shane) and Joey Ortiz (Jenifer), great-grandmother (“Nana”) to Sierra and Isabel Ortiz and Aleah Broadnax. Step-grandma to Jessica Joachim. Sister-in-law to Virginia Smith, Darlene Schmechel, and Cheryl Wilkinson. Proud Auntie of Jimmy Smith and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by parents James B. and Eleanor F. Smith, of Eureka; and brother Jim Smith of Eureka.

Born and resided in Eureka for 78 years before moving to Rancho Cordova in 1998, to be closer to daughter and grandchildren.

Prior to retirement, employed by Humboldt County School Office and City of Eureka Finance and Police Departments. She will be sorely missed by all that loved her and in our hearts forever.

A celebration of her life will be held, to be announced at a later date. Private interment in Eureka, Calif.
