A McKinleyville man was arrested Wednesday morning after deputies allegedly found 17 grams of methamphetamine in his pocket.
A deputy from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office investigated a parked sedan at Washington Avenue and Three Cabins Lane, in McKinleyville.
As the deputy approached the car, a man outside on the passenger side allegedly stood up suddenly and began to walk away, a HCSO news release stated.
The car contained two other people.
Houston K. Waters, 21, along with the other two people, were found to be on probation.
After the deputy called Waters back, and noticed him fidgeting with his jacket, he searched him.
Waters bolted southbound down Washington until he was apprehended by deputies.
After a search he was allegedly found to have 17.2 grams of meth, the release stated.
He was arrested for suspicion of possessing a controlled substance for sale, resisting or obstructing a peace officer, and a probation violation.
Waters was transported to the Humboldt County jail and is being held at $25,000 bail.
