The second fire in as many days at the Fairhaven Power Co. burned 4 acres within the containment lines, Samoa Peninsula Fire Protection Chief Kevin Pope said.

Words have meaning and Proposition 8 affirms the historical meaning of “marriage” in our language. The sole purpose of creating same-sex marriage is not to achieve equality, for laws have already been changed to do that, but to force other states to convert to the California redefinition. Proposition 8 is not about equality; it is about political maneuvering.
