Residents protest cell phone tower they say city didn’t tell them about

If residents living near the Apostolic Church in Eureka have their way, a 60-foot-tall cell phone tower masked as a bell tower won’t pierce the skyline anytime soon.

'Boo at the Sequoia Park Zoo'

Oct. 25-26 Boo at the Sequoia Park Zoo will be held Saturday Oct. 25 and Sunday Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For the first time ever, the Sequoia Park Zoo will host a workshop for kids age 8-12 to assist with preparing the food enrichment for the annual Boo at the Zoo. This workshop will teach children about animal enrichment and animal diets. Participants will help carve pumpkins, make spider cookies and assist zookeepers with animal feeding at Boo at the Zoo.
